NOTES: The 10th Mountain Division Hut system is located in the mountains of Colorado between Aspen, Leadville, and Vail. Styled after the European tradition of hut-to-hut travel, 24 huts provide overnight shelter for seasoned backcountry skiers and riders, snowshoers, mountain bikers. Linked by over 300 miles of trails, the 10th Mountain Huts provide access to spectacular terrain within the White River, Arapaho, and San Isabel National Forests. The huts are situated between 9,700 and 11,700 feet in elevation and are designed for experienced backcountry travelers. Most of the huts are open for winter use from Thanksgiving until April 30 and for summer use from July 1 until September 30. Prices range from $17.50 to $35 per person per night. Reservations are required.
