NOTES: Near Marquette, the Noquemanon Trail Network has over 60 miles of trails open to hiking and cross-country skiing.
One of the most popular sections is the Lower Noquemanon Trail and the popular trailhead for this system is the Forestville Trailhead located near the intersection of Harlow Lake Road and Forestville Road.
For the Lower Noquemanon Trail, there are three trailhead access points. Here are the directions to each:
County Road 510. From U.S. 41- 2 miles west of Wal-Mart, turn north on County Road 502 (Midway Drive). After 1/4 mile turn north onto County Road 510 towards Big Bay. Trailhead marker is 6 miles down on the east side of the roadway.
Forestville Road. Follow Wright street north off of US 41 for approximately one mile to Forestville Road. Turn left. Follow Forestville road for 3 miles. Watch for railroad tracks to the right. Turn right and cross tracks. Immediately turn left for trailhead, restroom and parking.
Superior Dome. North side of the Superior Dome. Park at the north end of the Superior Dome and follow old railroad tracks north. Look for trailhead signs.
