NOTES: South of Rochester, the Genesee Valley Greenway is on an old railway bed that passes through scenic woodlands, river and stream valleys, rolling farmlands, steep gorges, and historic villages located in sixteen towns in Monroe, Livingston, Wyoming, Allegany, and Cattaraugus counties. The Genesee Valley Greenway trail is primarily a mix of packed cinders, gravel and mowed surface. The only paved surface is for a short distance beginning in Genesee Valley Park and there are a few sections of stone dust.
