NOTES: Near Sugarloaf in Rangeley Lake State Park, the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center has 55 km of groomed trails winding through hilly forested terrain. The trails are maintained by the Rangeley Lakes Cross Country Ski Club.
This region in the western mountains of Maine has many logging roads and winter recreation trails. The more popular routes include: Rangeley Lake Loop (26 mi.), City Pond Loop (10 mi.), Quimby/Dodge Pond Loop (10 mi.), Bald Mountain Loop (10 mi.), and Beaver Mountain Loop (20 mi.).

To reach the trailhead, follow US95 north to the Maine Turnpike to Exit 12 (Auburn), then Route 4 north to Rangeley, then Saddleback Mountain Road 7 miles east to Saddleback ski area. The Rangeley Lakes Trails Center is located about 2 miles from the Saddleback Ski Area. The Rangeley Lakes Trails Center is located at 524 Saddleback Mountain Road in Rangeley.
